Never a dull moment ... the recount continues

November

Busy!

Life was chaotic in November. Large events looming at work, three birthdays, one getaway, one christening and a ball to attend I had enough to plan and no time to do it! one might say life was normal?

It started with a slightly delayed celebration of the Spaniards birth and fabulous existence!
The night was a great clear night and perfect to start at our favorite rooftop hang out, a-top the Hotel Sweeney's, a pub that you'd be forgiven from the outside of completely writing off as a crack den and hang out for out of work criminals. The rooftop bar however is a funky hole in the wall type of place with a truley kick ass GnT and relaxed atmosphere.
After some quick thai grub and a few of those fab GnTs and with all the usual suspects in toe, we headed across the road to stun it senseless with flaming cocktails in tiki cups at Grandmas Bar
See what I wore below..

Next on the months list of commitments was that corporate event favorite - The Charity Ball. Slightly encouraging this time, there was actually more charity than ball however still black tie and held at the Hilton in Sydney. It was a loverly elegant occassion held to raise money for Mission Australia's FIGs program
Never shy of an excuse to dress the part I went for a playful and pretty but glamourous look inspired by old hollywood. I think ull agree that its my gorgeous mum that takes out the real award for lasting beauty and eternal glamour- see photo below taken whilst sipping a pre-ball Bellini at Glass

At long last my prodigal boyfriend returned, tired and smelling like plane but smiling and gift laden. I wont make you all too jealous but there was a big bag of Victoria's Secret and another from Sephora, yep defiantly a keeper!
When we finally thought we had caught up enough to be properly attired and behaved in public, Mr thought it was time to pay a visit to his home town and i discovered lovable mates in good Ol' Kiama.
It was a great if not a bit short but sweet trip with amazing weather and lots of laughs!
shout outs to the Crazy croat for keeping me company.
Highlights have to include the extremely drunken game of Trivial Pursuit. those present will still be laughing at the memory of one that will now be known as Sir Wesley's

"But I don't understand he had only water and two chocolate bars, in the freezing cold ... How did he melt the chocolate?!"

Before leaving Mr also found time to show me around what im sure was once his favorite make out rather than look out. check out the pictures below for the view and also your first look at Mr.

Every family has that great couple that have been friends of your parents for longer than you can remember or have even been alive and are basically considered to be the aunties and uncles that got chosen rather than defaulted.
The male part of our families much loved version of the above, that will now be known as the  Irishman, celebrated its 70th birthday this month with a surprise celebration and close family lunch.
This was the first time that Mr was to meet the irishman and he must have made quite the impression with the irishman given the very subtle pointing at the wedding ring and winking at Mr during his "thank everyone for coming and hope to see you at the party for the next 10" speech.
I went with a modest little 50's esq dress i thought very appropriate given the slightly older demographic - think Elizabeth Taylor meets Charlotte York.

November also marked the end of another year for Mr and the christening of a close mates baby also allowed him some time to catch up with old mates.
As his birthday approached and sydney faded into the review mirror we slowly made or way towards the middle of nowhere eventually arriving at our destination...
"Welcome to Cootamundra
the christening was loverly and i discovered that the country christening is also code for drinking, bbq and lazying about with mates in the park all day... so no surprise, i was a natural!
Im slightly appalled to say i didn't get a picture of my exact out fit however it was this dress that I've previously shared with you all from my easter post.
Im pleased to say it was still a hit!

Wat im wearing~ (clockwise L-R) 1.Midnight blue satin Vicious Threads party dress, pale pink satin lined faux fur shrug with satin bow tie, Glamor Puss black satins and crystal T-bar heals. 2.Dotti peach bow detail straw hat, H&M shirt dress and Bulgari sunnies. 3. December

On the twelfth day of christmas my wardrobe said to me...

Christmas on the approach meant parties happening both as work (for those who aren't aware, when I'm not moonlighting as a fashion diva, I'm running around organizing and or putting the finishing touches on events all around the country), with work and with friends and family.

Something i love about what i do is the occasional freebie and one such freebie was a voucher i won at an industry event a few months earlier curtisy of the darling group.
The voucher was for the stoned crowe at Crows Nest a fantastic new edition to the area and great place to catch up with friends.
I decided to use my voucher to treat my tall drink of water to a night out together and so it was that Mr and I drank and ate our way through amazing cocktails and yummy pizzas.
check out my cute little date night ensumble below.

Sometimes one wants to be demure, sometimes sexy, sometimes comfy... sometimes like in the case of your new boyfriends christmas party you want to be all of these things- and maybe a bit more.
Mr is a little bit important in his office and every christmas all of the important people have a leadership dinner with their partners. This year Mr was taking me. No Pressure!
I decided to channel my inner joan and done a fabulous dress that hugged in all the right places yet came off as polished and lady like.
It "worked like a charm"
wouldn't you agree?

When ones gorgeous Mr has a family escape or more accurately a family escaping to the country, one has a decision - to grab a ride with them, or to drive up seperatly!
Having rented out their amazing beach side abode, Mr's family had taken up residence at a close friends house up in the valley, looking back on stunning rolling green hills - It was hard to take.
Amoungst the hustle of a busy december, sitting on the edge of the pavers looking out at the amazing view (documented for you below) glass of bubbles in my hand, it was hard to want to be anywhere elese in the whole world.
Leaving Mr the next day to return to my own family celebrations left me wearing a great new style -  The Pout!

On the 25th of december santa gave to me...

Well the truth is that santa spoilt me rotten and has done every year since my creation,
I choose to believe that this is because i am simply the most entraining of the badly behaved boys and girls and also that leaving me a lump of cole when i leave him LP's christmas tarts and cold crownies would just be bad manners! He saves that for those strange houses that trick him into eating tofu cake and carrot juice because that just ain't christmas!
In my family christmas is sacred... Let me clarify that - were not overly religious and whilst there's defiantly a visit to church its not so much the religious significance as the time spent with family that makes this holiday so special.
Its my favorite holiday - I love an excuse to get together with great food and wine, a few cocktails, family and friends but christmas is the piece de resistance!
My love at christmas is not so much the clothing as the decor. This year I went for a red and purple theme  see the outcome below.

New years and old friends...

Every year at a certain time every section of sydney from Sylvania to Saint Mary's go completely insane, this is called new years.

Having honed over time the perfect antidote to these shenanigans, the Spanyiad, Crazy Croat, Giraffe the Chella-Belle, Mr and I headed outa the city to escape the madness and relax in the clear blue water and tranquil breeze overlooking kiama.

The night its self was clear and warm and the well paid for fire works were worth the drive.
Though the nights festivities were tame at best- it was nice to wake up to 2013 in the arms of a man i truly love, sans headache, and with only distant memories of ultimate disease ball... I think this year might really be something!
Check out the festivities below.

It continues...

September babies have all the fun...

September

As August came to a close and the first real signs of spring began to appear so did the event list, and the biggest of them all my birthday ...so begged the question what to do and of course what to wear?

As my love of 50's rockabilly culture and yesteryear in general was showing no signs of relenting, i decided that a 50's themed birthday was only fitting!

Once I determined that the family HQ was not an option I decided it would be necessary to re-try all possible venues to make an informed decision - the cocktails needed to be good!

The chosen venue - Hinky Dinks in Darlinghurst. If you haven't yet then you most defiantly should!
The outfit was a little more tricky, I knew what i wanted but I also knew how I wanted it to sit and I was not content to simply buy it over the Internet and live with the results...
Now obviously I love shopping and the expedition to find my birthday dress filled me with excitement.
Finding time for this however was a thought I dreaded! Enter my sporadically Amazing male friend that will hence forth be know as the German!
The German, who has a slight obsession with old hot rods, pointed me in the direction of a fantastic boutique run by a mate of his, Bexterity- defiantly worth a visit.
So many dresses that i loved but only one could be 'the' dress and 'the' dress it was!
Classic 50's halter dress in Navy and White with a perfectly flared skirt.
Cue the quote of the evening from bachelor no#2

"So ... How do you feel? As great as you look!"

Snap! Thank you dress your officially paid for!

Check it out below...

Also in September was the engagement party of one of my favourite couples, it was a fun filled afternoon of cocktails, ciders and great views of the city from our rooftop perch.
Sans my chosen bachelor and feeling the slight light headiness that comes when going to a place you've had bad experiences with, I chose an outfit to lift my mood, It worked! And I think the pretty balloons i had to carry totally worked to accessorize my look!

A regular fixture on this blog is my cutie pie nephew and slightly delayed was a party for his second birthday at little pudding HQ!
It was the last time that bachelor no #1 was to make an appearance as the following phrase comes to mind;

"were so over we need a new word for over!"- Carry Bradshaw

As he came and left alone I have to admit the presence of my very best and most favourite giraffe and the entire little pudding menu was appreciated.
Its a good thing my outfit was almost as cute as my nephew!

The next which event I couldn't have predicted and I dare say I couldn't have written it any cutier than it happened, is also yours and my introduction to Bachelor no #3 and who will also now be known as Mr.

Mr happened upon my voice on the other end of the phone when he rang looking for a cheap quote.
Never having been exactly cheap... it wasn't long till he was calling again to ask if it was possible to get  the version sans gold platting! He had one of those truly sexy male voices so a light flirtation ensued.
Ultimately I couldn't help him with his request however after a slightly awkward ending to our conversation, I received the following message;

"I know this is hell inappropriate but you sound fun.
How often do you get asked out through work?" - Mr

First date outfit needed! I wanted to look sexy but cute (something I would say is kinda my signature look) the girl next door!
It was a great date and the kiss at the end - wow!
This is one Mr that I'd like to keep around!

October

October was a silly month or  more correctly the silly month that took my new Mr away to the USA... for a month! So I spent the time perfecting my Bessie Bardot and getting him acquainted with some of the more amazing pieces in my lingerie draw.

In the mean time I went to Melbourne for some much needed retail therapy and time with girlfriends.
I spent my time in October with great cocktails and great friends.

I also found time to attend the Ralph Lauren new season launch at David Jones gorgeously renovated 7th floor.

As the month drew to a close I managed to squeeze in a great little escape to the mountains with the family, it was a fun weekend of markets and food and fabulous wine- I think my gorgeous nephew took out the fashion fabulous award though - don't you?

Wat I'm (only just) wearing~ (top then Bottom) Aviators stolen from a party, Legs Avenue Polka dot shear cami and  CK black lace brazilian cut briefs 2. Hot Topic hot pink and black bustier!

Just a Hop, Skip and a year later ...

Wow time flies by when a gals having fun!

So I thought I'd write a nice little catch up bloglette full of all the goss and of course the outfits she wore!

So when i left you all in June it was amongst a blur of working commitments and a sea of winter fashion, here's what happened for the next 9 months.

July

A month of slightly awkward situations and a drinks session that seen eligible bachelor #1 and #2 play-out a North Korea vs America battle of wit where i was the prize and all in attendance were apparently the Japanese catching the missiles. my escape strategy was simple - try all the cocktails on the list and hope for the best!

Whilst clearing out the mothers wardrobe I happened upon a pleasant Lisa Ho discovery that was all but forgotten it was chocolate with Velvet details and bat wing sleeves and one of those winter dresses that make me want to put on Fleet wood Mac, open a bottle of brilliant red and dance around to Stevie signing about Gypsy's and paper lays.

"Lighting strikes maybe once... maybe twice"

My sister and the amazing genius behind Little Pudding had recently bought a new gorgeous abode for their growing family and so had us all around for a Sunday lunch. It was definitely up to her usually brilliant standard and i waddled rather than walked out.

August

Splendid month! Literally!

August was the month i virtually worked straight through, with a huge event bumping in and then out and splendour in the grass smack bang in the middle - i was a busy girl.

Most of my time was spent in my favourite of all outfits the dashing fluro blue allegedly breathable material work-shirt with black jeans and steel caps! Its not the best look but i try to make it work for me and if the current crop of Scottish backpacker /cheap labour is to be believed then I'd say i have it down to a fine art... not sure how my eligible bachelor would feel about that but hey a girls gotta earn her keep right? hehe

With splendour looming I made sure to choose my outfits in advance... 3 days of festival outfits and two days of work/ travel outfits and then theres the possible night activities... here's how i got through and also some of my favourite moments from the festival.
Shout outs to the crazy Croat and the Spaniard who shared in the fabulously muddy and marg'd event!
